Designed With Sparkling Crystals Of The Highest Quality And Set Into Palladium Plated Metal, The Necklace Has An Outstandingly Beautiful Oval Drop.

The Coronation Necklace Was Created For Queen Victoria To Replace Her Grandmother Queen Charlotte’S Diamond Necklace And Earrings. In December 1857, They Were Deemed To Belong To The Hanoverian Crown Along With A Significant Part Of The Family Jewels. The Personal Union Between The Kingdom Of Hanover And The United Kingdom Of Great Britain Had Ended In 1837 With The Death Of William Iv. Queen Victoria Ascended To The Throne Of The United Kingdom But It Was Her Uncle The Duke Of Cumberland Who Became King Ernest Augustus. This Was Because Hanover Still Operated Under Salic-Law And A Woman Could Not Ascend The Throne Unless There Were No Male Heirs To Inherit.
